Hot Tub Wood Fired

The Wood Fired Hot Tub A Wonderful Piece Of The Past

For most people modernity and convenience are the order of the day, and especially when it comes to the bathroom or anything to do with bathing, the less work to do the better. But for some people, utility and ease of use are not the main things, and when it comes to choosing a hot tub, there are a growing number of people now looking at the advantages and style offered by buying a wood fired hot tub instead of the usual electric heated hot tub that is prevalent in most places. A wood fired tub, modern styled though it may be, is not for everyone, but for those who don't mind a bit of work to fill the wood fired hot water heating system, they can offer a different hot tub option to the modern electric heated tub style.

One advantage of this hot tub wood fired as it is, is that there are no chemicals to use in the tub itself, since the water heating process is completely natural, and the hot tub water circulation does not move by the use of water jets as in a hot tub hydrotherapy unit, but by the natural convection of heat, a process known as thermosiphon. This means the hot tub has no pump, and can make for a low-maintenance hot tub choice, something which can have appeal.

Another advantage of the wood fired model is that the fuel is a natural fuel, and therefore can be classed as environmentally friendly. Many wood hot tubs use many kinds of wood fuel, including wood sticks, pellets, and brushwood. This can make them an excellent choice of traditional hot tub for a rural area, especially since you will need to have a place to stock the wood and other fuels to run it. In rural areas there may also be a good supply of wood and other materials to use as fuel.

Many hot tub wood heaters are made of iron or stainless steel. This makes them very durable and can last for many years. The more modern wood fired models also have a mechanism to make them highly efficient tub heaters, with a secondary combustion adding more heat to the water and cutting back on the amount of smoke produced. The hot tub itself can be made of wood or can be a modern style acrylic hot tub.

For a traditional wooden hot or Ofuro, take a look at a western red cedar hot tub made using traditional coopering techniques. These are naturally insulated hot tubs, also being insect resistant while giving natural aromatherapy. A disadvantage for some is that these traditional hot tub styles usually do not have the same amount of modern accessories such as water jets for water massage, aromatherapy and lighting or sound systems. However, they do offer a traditional soaking tub experience which can be just as relaxing as the more contemporary hot tub versions, along with the fact that the use of natural wood fuel can add to the attraction. For some great ideas, look at this New York Times article, which shows the benefits of wood fired hot tub types.

A cedar hot tub is among the more traditional hot tub styles, and when used with a wood fired hot tub stove heater, you have the perfect combination for a true natural bathing experience.
